• Thursday 19th January - Tuesday 7th March 2006 - Cambridge Series Poetry: readings in the New Music Room, St. John's College, Cambridge. Readings are Thursdays at 8pm, except for Tuesday 7th March. Readers include Ulli Freer, Andrew Brewerton, Tim Atkins, Fiona Sampson, Randolph Healy, Linh Dinh, Geoff Ward, Chris McCabe, John Temple, Alice Notley, Ralph Hawkins, Anthony Barnett, Keston Sutherland, Neil Pattison, Matt ffytche, Lucy Sheerman, Jeremy Hardingham, Bill Griffiths, Peter Robinson, Dell Olson and Tom Jones. • Tuesday 22nd November 2005 - The Japanese New Music Festival plays 93 Feet East, London. Yoshida Tatsuya, Tsuyama Atsushi and Kawabata Makoto play in seven different units over the course of one evening. Unmissable!

• Fri 20th May 2005 - Keiji Haino: 'secret of music', a special 4 hour solo set using more than 40 instruments. Sage Centre, Gateshead (UK), as part of the Music Lovers Field Companion music festival.

• Fri 10th December 1004 - On the occasion of Mordechai Vanunu accepting an invitation to stand as rector for Glasgow University, a public reading by Scottish writers in support of Vanunu will take place in Glasgow. Venue: Oran Mor, corner of Great Western Road and Byres Road Glasgow. Time: 7.00 pm. Readers: Alasdair Gray, James Kelman, Tom Leonard, Gerry Loose, Agnes Owens. Admission Free.

• 8th-10th July 2004 - Contemporary Writing Environments: a conference at Brunel University, London. Includes a reading by Jérôme Game, Kristen Kreider, Peter Manson and Miles Champion, Friday 9th July, 1800-1900.
• 1st July 2004 - Keith Rowe (guitar) and John Tilbury (piano) play "Duos for Doris" at the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow at 9pm. Rowe will be performing with the Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra at the same venue on 3rd July (8pm).
• 27th - 30th May 2004 - Le Weekend Festival, Tolbooth, Stirling. • 28th April - 2nd May 2004 - Triptych Festival, various venues around Scotland. Too much to list, but the Glasgow events include Animal Collective, Wire, Chris & Cosey, Irmin Schmidt & Kumo. The Glasgow Film Theatre will also host Irmin Schmidt presenting extracts from the Can DVD (30th April), a screening of the Sun Ra film Space is the Place (1st May) and Tuvan group Yat-Kha playing live accompaniment to the 1928 film Storm Over Asia (2nd May).

• 30th March 2004 - The Boredoms and Lightning Bolt play The Scala, London.
• 21st March 2004 - Bobby Conn and the Glass Gypsies play the Sub Club, Glasgow.
• 21st February 2004 - The Fall play The Renfrew Ferry, Glasgow.
• 12th -14th February 2004 - Subcurrent, a three-day festival of electronic music at the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow, curated by David Keenan. Performers include Nobukazu Takemura, Masonna, Space Machine, Double Leopards and Kontakt Der Jünglinge.
• 24th January-12th April 2004 - The Art of Philip Guston at the Royal Academy of Arts, London. A major exhibition of the abstract expressionist painter and his later figurative work.
